I will be holding “The Craft of Fiction” course at the Village Book Shop in downtown Glendora. This 6 week course is just $105! Here is some information:

Learn the craft of fiction in six 2-hour sessions. This course covers the basics of fiction writing: Characterization, Setting, Imagery, Showing vs. Telling, Story, Plot, Point of View, Comparisons, and finally Revision. The course culminates in the Workshop, where you and other students share your stories and provide feedback for each other.

Sessions will include discussions, in-class assignments, examples, and “homework” exercises designed to develop various elements of the craft. At the end of the course, each participant will have a complete original piece of fiction. In addition, there will be one-on-one time with me during the 6 weeks where you have the chance to discuss your work or ask questions about the craft.

Elsewhere, a course like this would cost over $500, and other classes in this price tier don’t offer the quality, or the classes lack instructor interaction. I have a high learning success rate with my students over the years, even in only a few sessions. I am very thorough, and provide plenty of opportunities for questions.
